Nigeria’s table tennis legend Oshonaike erased out in the preliminaries to USA’s Juan Liu in fire sets.

Oshonaike is the first Women to qualify for seven Olympic Games in table tennis. She started her playing career on the street of Akeju Lagos in her early 1980’s and have overcome huge setbacks in other to achiever her goals.

Funke has been officially recognized as a member of the exclusive club of ping pong and a plaque was also presented to her on Monday to mark her induction into the club.

Four men has previously attained such Olympian high since table tennis was recognized as an Olympic sport at the Seoul ’88 Games and they are Jorgen person of Sweden, Zoran  Primorac of Croatia, Belgium’s Jean-Michel Saive and Segunn Toriola.
